About Me
Artist Statement
Over my short few years making art, I have undergone a tremendous amount of change and growth as a person, and I believe that I can attribute a lot of that growth to my time in creating. My art has become an essential part of my life. It has become a way for me to look inward, better understand myself, and has helped me to become a more secure person. Most importantly though, I have found genuine joy in the creative process, and I hope to share that feeling with others through my work.
I’ve always known that my art was different from a lot of the art I saw around me, but knowing this, I challenged myself to find a unique and personal voice that was engaging and approachable. I allowed myself to be influenced by the media that I grew up with, along with the media that I enjoyed now. I incorporated imagery from popular culture, comic books, advertisements and other fine arts into my pieces, and manipulated them to fit my needs. The ideas I typically explore in my work usually revolve around identity, self-image, mental health, and how all these ideas relate to the media we consume, and how that media affects us. I believe that while my body of work is very diverse, all of my works can individually be seen as an extension and portrait of myself. While I am drawn to certain themes more than others, I do want to clarify that I want my artwork to be a conversation between the work and the viewer. At the end of the day, my primary goal is to create a body of work that is accessible, thought-provoking, and can be enjoyed by a wide range of people. I hope you take some time to look around and enjoy what I have
